Visa Requirements
Visas are not required for short-term visitors from most countries, including U.S.A., Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and European Union countries. Visitors should still check Hong Kong Immigration Department webpage or with their local consulates for the latest information.Getting to HKUST campus
Between the University and downtown: Public transport in Hong Kong is very efficient, and getting to the University is easy, whether by taxi, or subway train ("MTR") plus bus. The nearest subway stations to the University are found at Hang Hau and Choi Hung. From Hang Hau, you can reach the University using buses, 91M, 11, 11M or 11S. From Choi Hung, you can reach the University using buses 91, 91M, 11 or 11S. A taxi from Hang Hau to the University costs around HK$30 and from Choi Hung a taxi costs HK$70. It might be helpful to print the name of university in Chinese as not all taxi drivers speak English.
